Nitazoxanide 500 mg tablets may cause mild side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. These side effects are usually transient and resolve on their own. In rare cases, allergic reactions or more severe gastrointestinal symptoms may occur. It’s essential to consult a healthcare provider if any concerning side effects arise during nitazoxanide treatment.

Gastrointestinal Effects: The most commonly reported side effects of nitazoxanide tablets are gastrointestinal. These may include:

      Abdominal pain or discomfort
Headache: Some individuals may experience headaches while taking nitazoxanide tablets. This side effect is typically mild and transient.

Allergic Reactions: In rare cases, allergic reactions to nitazoxanide may occur. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include:

      Rash or hives
Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat

Liver Function Abnormalities: Although uncommon, nitazoxanide has been associated with elevations in liver enzymes in some patients. This may manifest as jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), dark urine, or unusual tiredness or weakness. Individuals with pre-existing liver conditions may be at higher risk for liver-related side effects.

Central Nervous System Effects: While rare, some individuals may experience central nervous system side effects such as dizziness, confusion, or changes in mood or behavior while taking nitazoxanide.

Other Side Effects: Additional side effects that have been reported with nitazoxanide use include:
