As long as they don’t have breast cancer, many people can live a normal life. Even though the experience may change some parts of your life, you can get back to your daily life, work, and relationships with the right help, care, and changes to your lifestyle. Follow-up care, like annual check-ups and tests, is important to keep an eye on health and deal with any long-term effects of treatment that might happen. Support from friends, family, support groups, or therapy can also help you deal with the physical and mental problems of living with breast cancer. A healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise, a balanced diet, not smoking, and drinking less alcohol can improve your general health and lower your risk of getting cancer again. There may be hard times along the way, but many people who have survived breast cancer find strength, grit, and a new appreciation for life as they go.
